Whittier Police Department and The Technology Depot Team Up to Prevent Choking and Save Lives

When time is of the essence, every second counts! Chief Bar and Whittier PD reached out to The Technology Depot following the saving of an 8-year old boy in the neighboring El Monte, CA community. He was choking to death on candy. With calm and professionalism, Officer Vega deployed the LifeVac anti-choking device to save the boy's life. This officer is a hero. It also highlights the importance of leadership that prioritizes equipping officers with the necessary tools to save lives.
Embracing innovation, Chief Aviv Bar has recently acquired 65 LifeVac devices for his department. These devices will be placed in all officers’ vehicles and other key locations for quick access in case of a choking emergency within the City of Whittier/Santa Fe Springs.
Since 2021, The Technology Depot has ensured that LifeVac airway-clearing anti-choking devices are available in local schools, police departments, emergency medical services, and the community.
