I attended the "Case for Character" suitcase packing event sponsored by a generous donation from the Rotary Club on September 14, 2024. Local foster children are benefiting from the new suitcases, thanks to this initiative. Kudos to the Rotary Club and ForeverKids.org for their impactful work.
During the event, 70 suitcases were purchased and gifted to various foster agencies, including Olive Crest, Koinonia Family Services, Families Uniting Families, and ABC Foster Family Agency. These agencies are instrumental in filling the suitcases with character-building materials, such as reading and music resources, to teach essential life lessons and promote self-esteem and dignity among children in foster care.
Partnerships like these play a crucial role in addressing unique community needs. The event, held at the Los Alamitos Unified School District offices parking lot, exemplifies the power of collaboration in creating positive change.
